Polash is a Melbourne-based musician, playwright and dramaturg who divides his time equally between the arts and the last, pathetically dying embers of a 'career' as a rapidly aging hockey player. Although not as passionate about the arts as he is about hockey, he has arguably been more successful in the former endeavor, winning awards for his efforts in both theatre and music as well as steering other playwrights to critical acclaim. Despite all this he longs to re-experience the dizzying heights attained when, in 1994, he won the Stan Rees Memorial 'Best and Fairest' Trophy (B Division).
'The Ready to Fit Pergola Kit' had its world premiere at the 2004 Short + Sweet Festival in Sydney, where it won the People's Choice Award. This production was then filmed and screened in its entirety on ABC television's 'Sunday Arts' program.
