George Cartledge


George's music career began in the 1960s playing lead guitar for various Rock, Blues and Jazz bands in the UK and Europe. He has been a composer and sound designer for live theatre for the past ten years, working on a variety of productions in many different genres from semi-classical orchestral music through to rock and jazz. George's work has been featured at many venues around Sydney including Belvoir Street Theatre, The Stables Theatre, Zenith Theatre and the Pavilion Theatres in both Castle Hill and Bondi.

Productions featuring his compositions and sound designs include: The Night Heron, Amadeus, The Crucible, The Glass Menagerie, Rozencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead and Shadowlands. George also played Brother George (the band leader) in a sell-out production of the musical Nunsense for which he was musical director, played guitar live and conducted the band.
